THRUST ROLLER INFORMATION

Thrust rollers ride on the uphill and downhill edges of the rotary drum tire.

They function to keep the drum from drifting, or moving horizontally

Proper thrust roller material, bearings are critical to thrust roller design.

Thrust rollers need to be fabricated from a softer material than the tire,

  • This insures that thrust roller will be sacrificed and not the tire
  • Bearings are critical to thrust roller life and performance
  • PRE has designed a thrust roller system that allows for maximum adjustment

FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE FLIGHT DESIGN

Some thrust rollers allow the dryer to float (1” to 2”) which can cause serious damaged to the following parts:

  • Seals
  • Sprockets
  • Chain
  • Gear boxes
  • Insulation
